Fabric Displays Scotland: The Complete Buying Guide

Quick answer: Fabric displays are lightweight exhibition and event graphics — display walls, pop up stands, counters and table cloths — printed onto stretch fabric using dye-sublimation, giving a seamless, glare-free finish that packs into a small bag and is fully washable. Print Studio Scotland offers four fabric formats from £100, with production handled by a specialist textile printing partner rather than in our own Paisley studio, giving a standard turnaround of 5–7 working days.

What Are Fabric Displays?

Fabric displays are a family of exhibition and event graphics built around the same core idea: a lightweight aluminium frame covered by a printed stretch fabric skin, rather than a rigid or roll-up panel. The fabric is dye-sublimation printed, a process that infuses ink directly into the fibres rather than sitting on top of them, which gives a soft, glare-free finish with no visible seams or joins — even on large backdrops.

Because the graphic is fabric rather than PVC or foamex, it folds down small, weighs a fraction of an equivalent rigid display, and is washable and reusable. That combination makes fabric the go-to choice for step-and-repeat backdrops, photo walls, stage sets, exhibition stands and branded event tables across Scotland.

Why Our Fabric Range Works a Little Differently

We're upfront about this because it's a genuine point of difference from the rest of our range: our roller banners, posters, correx boards and most of our large-format print are produced in-house at our own studio in Paisley. Our fabric range is not. Dye-sublimation printing onto stretch fabric, plus the heat-transfer and edge-sewing finishing that turns a printed sheet into a taut, snap-fit graphic, needs a dedicated textile production line — wide-format sublimation printers, calendar heat presses and industrial sewing equipment — that's a different setup entirely from the litho and large-format vinyl kit we run ourselves.

So for Fabric Display Walls, Fabric Pop Up Displays, the Fabric Pop Up Counter and our Table Cloths, we work with a specialist fabric printing partner who does nothing else. We still handle your order, your artwork and design, sizing advice, and a full quality check of every item before it goes out or is collected — but the actual dye-sublimation printing happens off-site. That's the reason fabric items carry a standard turnaround of 5–7 working days, noticeably longer than the 1–3 working days typical of our in-house roller banners.

If your event is happening sooner than that, it's worth knowing our roller banner range is printed in-house and can often turn around in a fraction of the time — see our Roller Banners Scotland guide for the faster alternative. How to Choose the Right Fabric Display

A large backdrop for an exhibition stand or stage

The Fabric Display Walls are our largest format, available from 2m up to 6m wide in straight or curved frames, printed single or double-sided. They're the natural choice for conference stages, media walls and step-and-repeat photo backdrops where you need maximum visual impact.

A versatile, general-purpose exhibition stand

The Fabric Pop Up Display is the most popular fabric format — a snap-fit aluminium frame from 850mm wide that assembles in a few minutes and works for most exhibition and event stands without the scale (or cost) of a full display wall.

Branding your reception or point of sale

The Fabric Pop Up Counter gives you a fully branded counter — graphic wrapped seamlessly over the counter-top and base — for receptions, exhibition stands or point-of-sale areas. It assembles in 7–10 minutes and packs into its own carry bag.

Dressing an event table

Choose between our two Table Cloths: Branded Table Cloths are a loose-fit drape that works over most standard trestle tables, while Fitted Table Cloths come with a matching folding table and a stretch-fabric cover tensioned to a seamless finish — the tidier option when the table itself needs to look part of the display.

Turnaround Times & Delivery Across Scotland

Because production is handled by our specialist fabric partner rather than in-house, standard turnaround across the fabric range is 5–7 working days. Once your order is ready, we send it via next-day courier UK-wide (allow 48 hours for remote areas of Scotland), or you're welcome to click & collect from our Paisley studio. If you're working to a tight event date, get in touch before ordering and we'll confirm whether we can hit it.

Artwork & Design Help

Please supply artwork as a print-ready PDF at the correct size with 3mm bleed on all edges, in CMYK colour at 300dpi. Artwork templates are available to download on each product page. If you don't have artwork ready, our in-house graphic design team can build it for you — get in touch for a quote, charged at £30 per hour with drafts supplied for approval before anything goes to print.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a fabric display?

A fabric display is an exhibition or event graphic printed onto stretch fabric using dye-sublimation, then fitted over a lightweight aluminium frame. The fabric skin gives a seamless, glare-free finish, folds down small for transport, and is washable and reusable — unlike rigid or roll-up display panels.

Do you print your fabric displays in-house?

No — this is the one part of our range we don't produce ourselves. Dye-sublimation printing and fabric finishing requires specialist textile production equipment, so Fabric Display Walls, Fabric Pop Up Displays, the Fabric Pop Up Counter and our Table Cloths are produced by a specialist fabric printing partner. We still manage your order, artwork and quality check from our Paisley studio.

Why does a fabric display take longer than a roller banner?

Our roller banners, posters and rigid boards are printed in-house in Paisley, so we control the schedule directly and can often turn them around in 1–3 working days. Fabric items go to an external specialist for dye-sublimation printing and sewing/finishing, which adds production time — a standard 5–7 working days across the fabric range.

Can the fabric graphic be washed and reused?

Yes. The stretch fabric covers on our Display Walls, Pop Up Display and Pop Up Counter are washable and can be removed from the frame, so you can refresh your display or swap in new artwork without replacing the whole system — replacement graphics are available separately for each product.

What's the difference between a loose and a fitted table cloth?

Branded Table Cloths are a loose drape that fits over a standard 3m x 2m trestle table. Fitted Table Cloths include the folding table itself along with a stretch-fabric cover tensioned to a smooth, seamless finish — a tidier, more tailored look if you don't already have a table to dress.

What's the difference between a fabric display and a roller banner?

A roller banner is a self-contained stand with a graphic that retracts into a base cassette — fast to set up and printed in-house here at 1–3 working days. A fabric display uses a separate frame with a fitted fabric skin, giving a larger, seamless finish (especially on our Display Walls) at the cost of a longer, outsourced production time. See our Roller Banners Scotland guide if speed matters more than scale for your event.

How much does a fabric display cost?

Prices start from £100 for a Fabric Pop Up Display, £195 for the Fabric Pop Up Counter, £105 for a Branded Table Cloth, £209 for a Fitted Table Cloth, and from £295 for a Fabric Display Wall depending on size and whether you need the full frame system or a replacement graphic only.

Can you design my fabric display artwork for me?

Yes. Our in-house graphic design team can create your artwork from scratch, charged at £30 per hour with drafts supplied for approval before we send anything to print. Contact us for a quick, no-obligation quote.
