Brochures Are What We Do
We have been producing commercial print from our Paisley studio since 2010, and brochures are the work we care most about getting right. A brochure is rarely a throwaway item — it is handed over in a meeting, posted to a prospect, left on a stand at an exhibition. It carries weight that a flyer does not, and the details show: whether the spine is square, whether the fold sits true, whether the cover has the substance the brand deserves.
That is why we do not treat brochures as a commodity. We hold our own stocked paper range, we know how each one behaves through the press and the folder, and we will tell you honestly when a specification is not going to give you the result you are picturing.

Step One: Settle Your Page Count
Page count decides your binding before anything else does. Brochure pages always run in multiples of four, because each printed sheet folds to make four pages — a rule worth understanding before you start laying out, and one we cover in full in our page counts and imposition guide.
- 8 to 48 pages — saddle stitched. Neat, economical, lies reasonably flat.
- 36 to 120 pages — wire bound or perfect bound. Beyond about 48 pages a stitched spine starts to bulk and creep.
- Over 120 pages — perfect binding handles up to 450 pages. Get in touch and we will quote it.
Step Two: Choose Your Binding
Saddle Stitched
Folded sheets nested one inside the other and stapled through the spine fold. The most economical binding, the fastest to produce, and the right answer for the overwhelming majority of company brochures, event programmes and short reports.
Wire Bound
Punched pages bound with a silver wire spiral. The defining feature is that it opens completely flat and stays there, which matters enormously for anything someone has to follow while doing something else — manuals, training packs, recipe books, planners.
Perfect Bound
Pages and cover glued at the spine with flexible thermal adhesive, then trimmed on three edges. This is the binding that gives you a printed spine and the feel of a proper book. When a brochure needs to sit on a shelf and look like it belongs there, this is the one.

Step Three: Choose Your Paper
This is where brochures are won and lost, and where most online printers give you two options and call it a range. We stock coated silk and gloss, uncoated, and 100% recycled, in weights from 100gsm to 400gsm.
- Silk — a smooth, low-sheen coated finish. Vibrant colour without glare, and comfortable to read at length. The default for brochures for good reason.
- Gloss — high shine, maximum colour intensity. Photography leaps off the page. Best where images carry the message.
- Uncoated — no surface treatment, so the fibres stay exposed. Softer, warmer, more tactile, and genuinely writable. Reads as understated and trustworthy.
- Recycled — 100% post-consumer waste, whitened without chlorine. A real environmental position rather than a token one.

Step Four: Consider the Cover
A heavier cover transforms how a brochure feels in the hand for very little money. Our stitched brochures offer a 250gsm cover with 150gsm inners; wire and perfect bound run a 350gsm cover as standard. Add a laminate — matt, gloss or soft touch — and you have a cover that resists scuffing and finger marks through months of handling.
Quantities: Lower or Higher Than Listed
Our online pricing runs from 25 copies upwards, and 25 is a genuine minimum rather than a token one — digital production means a run of 25 is properly economical, not a favour.
At the other end, our listed quantities stop at 1,000 for stitched work, but that is a website convenience rather than a production limit. Past roughly 1,000 copies, litho becomes the more economical method, and the unit cost improvements are significant enough that it is always worth asking. Whatever the volume, the job is specified, checked and managed by the same team here in Paisley.

Yes. We send via courier on a next day service UK-wide, with 48 hours for remote areas. If you are near Paisley you are welcome to collect from the studio.
