Flyer Sizes Explained: A6, DL, A5 & A4

Quick answer: Print Studio Scotland's flyers are available in four sizes: A6 (105 x 148mm), DL (99 x 210mm), A5 (148 x 210mm) and A4 (210 x 297mm). A6 is the most popular size for hand-to-hand and letterbox distribution, DL suits menus and rack displays, while A5 and A4 give more room for detail on events, promotions and information sheets. Both our standard and Eco-Friendly ranges are available in all four sizes.

Standard Flyer Sizes at a Glance

A6 — 105mm (w) x 148mm (h)

Our most popular flyer size. Small enough to hand out quickly, post through letterboxes, or leave in a dispenser, but still big enough to carry a clear message, logo and call to action. Ideal for local promotions, offers, and leaflet drops.

DL — 99mm (w) x 210mm (h)

A tall, slim format that fits neatly into a DL envelope or a standard leaflet rack. A popular choice for menus, price lists, and anywhere a flyer needs to sit alongside other literature in a dispenser.

A5 — 148mm (w) x 210mm (h)

Twice the size of A6, giving considerably more room for imagery, detail and text. A common choice for event flyers, restaurant menus, and promotions with more information to communicate.

A4 — 210mm (w) x 297mm (h)

Our largest flyer size, closer to a mini-poster than a handout. Good for in-store display, noticeboards, information sheets, and anywhere the flyer will be read from a little further away rather than handed directly to someone.

Paper Weights by Range

Size determines the dimensions of your flyer, but weight determines how it feels in the hand. Our standard Flyers are available in 150gsm (medium weight paper), 250gsm (light card) and 350gsm (heavy card), each on a choice of Silk, Gloss or Matte Uncoated finish. Our Eco-Friendly Flyers are available in 170gsm and 300gsm, both on Evolution 100% recycled stock. Heavier weights feel more premium and hold up better to repeated handling, while lighter weights keep costs down on high-volume runs.

Which Size Should I Choose?

Handing out in the street or door-to-door

A6 is the standard choice — compact, quick to produce in volume, and cost-effective for large distribution runs.

Posting or including with other mail

DL fits a standard envelope without folding, making it a practical choice for mailers and inserts.

Menus, event flyers and anything with more to say

A5 gives noticeably more space than A6 while remaining easy to hand out and read at a glance.

In-store display or noticeboard use

A4 gives the most visual impact and space for detail, making it better suited to being displayed rather than handed out directly.
