A4 Duplicate NCR Forms — 2 Part

An NCR pad gets used in an abundance of daily scenarios. In a busy office environment, at a goods-in bay, on a counter with a queue forming. It has to work first time, every time — the copy has to come through cleanly, the set has to tear out without taking the next one with it, and the pad has to survive weeks of handling. That is a print job with nowhere to hide, and it is one we have been getting right from our Paisley studio since 2010.

Our A4 2 part forms are printed and finished in-house on genuine carbonless NCR stock — white top sheet, yellow copy — in runs from just 2 pads. Choose glued pads with a greyboard back, or perforated books when the copy needs to stay bound in for your records.

Who is this for?

A4 (210 x 297mm) gives roughly twice the page area of A5, and that changes what the form can carry: multi-column tables, itemised parts and materials lists, full terms and conditions on the reverse, and enough room for detail to be written legibly rather than crammed into a margin.

It is the size offices and larger operations settle on. Manufacturing and warehousing use it for goods received and despatch notes, purchase orders and stock movement records. Distilleries use it wherever product moves under paperwork that has to stand up to scrutiny. Garages use it for full service schedules and vehicle inspection reports. It is also the right choice when the form will be filed, scanned or audited, because it stays in step with everything else in the cabinet. For quicker, handheld paperwork, A5 is easier to work with and costs less.

How does this compare to our other NCR forms?

Two part gives you one copy: the customer or supplier keeps the top white sheet, you keep the yellow. When a third party also needs a record — driver, customer and office, or production, warehouse and accounts — our A4 3 Part range adds a pink bottom sheet. Pads or books — which do I need?

Pads are glued at the head into pads of 50 sets with a greyboard back. Both sheets tear out together, so they suit anything where you hand over the top copy and file the second elsewhere.

Books are perforated, stapled and taped into books of 50 sets. The top sheet tears out along the perforation and the copy stays bound in the book — the format to choose when the book itself is your record, as with accident books, goods movement logs and waste transfer notes.

Need a quantity above 20 pads? Quotations are available on request for higher volumes, and the unit cost drops considerably as the run grows. Larger runs are always worth pricing rather than ordering repeatedly in small batches.

Need something not listed? Bespoke sizes, A3 and DL formats, 4 part sets, alternative paper colours and collation orders, wrap-around printed covers, perforated tear-off stubs and books numbered in sequence across a whole batch are all routine work for us — none of it is on the dropdowns.

What is NCR paper?

NCR stands for No Carbon Required. The back of the top sheet carries microscopic capsules of dye; the face of the sheet below carries a clay coating that reacts to it. Pen pressure bursts the capsules and the mark transfers instantly — a permanent copy with none of the mess of old blue carbon paper. On a 2 part set the top sheet is coated on the back (CB) and the bottom sheet on the front (CF).

Can I have my forms numbered?

Yes. Select Numbering Required and each set is printed with its own sequential number, which is standard practice for delivery notes, purchase orders and anything that needs an audit trail. Tell us the start number when you order. If you reorder later we can continue the sequence from where the last batch finished, so your numbering never repeats.

What are the drilled holes for?

Two or four holes let the sets be filed straight into a ring binder or lever arch file once they are torn out — worth adding on A4 in particular, since the copies usually end up in a folder rather than a box. The drill is positioned clear of your content, so keep important detail away from the binding edge.

What is the lead time for this product?

Typical timescale is 3-4 working days depending on the quantity required. If you have a specific deadline, get in touch — we'll always tell you honestly whether we can hit it.

What are my delivery options?

We send our parcels via courier on a next day service within the UK. If you are in a remote area of the UK, please allow 48hr deliveries. If you are local to us, you can simply click and collect from our studio.

Artwork Requirements

Please supply your artwork as a PDF at finished size with an additional 3mm bleed around all edges plus trim marks, and keep critical content at least 5mm inside the trim. Supply one page per printed side. Because NCR reproduces best with clean, solid line work, avoid fine reversed-out type and heavy solid areas of ink, and leave the numbering position clear if you are having the sets numbered. Do you offer a design service?

Yes we do. Our in-house graphic designers are available to create artwork to your specific requirements. Simply contact us and we'll come straight back with a quotation. Our team will supply drafts for approval, where you can suggest any tweaks you would like, ahead of print. Design charge: Our artwork service is charged at £35 per hour.
